Hey everyone.
We have a server up and running doing a rotation of 3 rounds of Seine Crossing, followed by 3 rounds Grand Bazaar, then ended with 2 rounds of Operation Métro. After this it repeats. I am considering adding a fourth to the mix. Please vote your favorite map as a candidate in this thread by posting your answer to the poll and giving a detailed explanation in this thread. If you really like a map and want us to play on that map then explain to me why!
On this note, I would also like to mention that anyone who has an opinion regarding a different rotation of maps, taking a map out. changing how many rounds we play per map, etc. should post it here. It is critical to get your voice heard on the matter because hopefully you plan to play with us on our server!
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, I want people to consider which map should be the first on the map rotation. This has relevance when the server restarts once a night(or week, have to check gameservers). It is usually down for only a minute or two, but the map that follows after the crash could determine its chances to repopulate.
To end I will put some notes about the maps available to be chosen:
Teheran Highway
• Small enough to make infantry combat a primary focus. The vehicles give the feel of a larger map, and it is in some ways, but the shape of the map is relatively narrow making it a tight fit.
• Has tanks, jeeps, and everything in between. Does not have jets or helicopters.
• Room to get some decently long head shots.
• Maximum rounds per rotation: 2 - Probable round per rotation: 2
Caspian Border
• Huge. The design of the map is rather bland with some areas that are questionable in design, but then again it is vehicle based.
• Every vehicle is up for grabs.
• Engineers are very useful and recon can get very long head shots.
• Maximum rounds per rotation: 2 - Probable round per rotation: 1
Canals
• Relatively small with lots of large hiding spots, but most of the map is very open.
• Very open map with heavy helicopter play.
• All vehicles except the Jet and maybe tank.
• Maximum rounds per rotation: 2 - Probable round per rotation: 2
Damavand Peak
• Medium sized and narrow. A lot of infantry based combat.
• Every vehicle except the Jet.
• Awesome jump and neat map design.
• Maximum rounds per rotation: 2 - Probable round per rotation: 2
Operation Firestorm
• Large map with many nooks and crannies.
• Every vehicle.
• Good mix of infantry and vehicle. Just lacks the actual interest of the map.
• Maximum rounds per rotation: 2 - Probable round per rotation: 1
