I was thinking, if you made a box of inward facing 1 way mirrors
would you be able to shine a light into it, and have it ETERNALLY reflect the light around
and if no light would be escaping, how would you know there was any light in the box? without opening it, releasing the light...
T/F?
on a side note
is darkness an absence of light?
or is light the absence of darkness?
darkness requires no energy to create, no light (or dark source)
light does...
T/F?

False, first you never said if the box was a vacuum or not but even if it was i would guess that the mirror abosrb some energy from the light
Not very clear on the second what would be true or false

First one I would guess false even with a vacuum.
Second one is just a grammatical flaw in reasoning, if your objective is to find out which is "true". They are both grammatically true. Darkness is the absence of light. Light is the absence of dark.
If you were to look at it in a different perspective however, light are just waves with no matter. They do not fill up anything. They are just energy going through the universe. Dark would be the human application of lack of energy that allows us to see. Since waves have no matter they are not there... in a sense. Dark is just a concept humans created to give reason to why we cannot see when our eyes are not given light waves to see. Seeing is just having light reflected back to us into our eyes. So when you think about it, you can still see when there is no light, but all you see is black because that is the only thing reflecting back at you (or as some may argue... nothing). When light is applied to our universe we can see, but it is only a concept created by us humans.
All in all, darkness is a concept created by humans, but if you were to look at it very literally then it would be when there are no light rays reflecting from objects into our eyes. Light is when there is light rays reflecting from objects into our eyes.
It is just a grammatical standpoint argument to be honest. Something to dwell on when you are bored I suppose - if a fat chick falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, do the trees laugh? Same concept.
