I'll come right out and say it. When I want to come in and say hi to everyone, or get a game going, it is really obnoxious having five people in there screaming away because they are too lazy to move down to a different channel.
Can we make it a requirement for people playing a game together to move to a different channel? If I want to hear you playing a game I'll join your channel. Don't force the rest of us to listen to that. It makes getting a new game set up near impossible. It happened last night and it is happening again today.

Interest thing to point out. I will post something along the lines of vent rules relatively soon.

I think the issue is there is no real labeled lobby that people can go into. It's just "in house gaming #1" that everyone chills in. I use to run a couple of large Vent servers back in CS:S and WoW (200+) and the issue is always having a designated bullshit area.

(Of course if I could, I'd no life the shit out of D2) I myself play League of Legends and Terraria more than anything so it wouldn't hurt to put more channels like for general gaming w/ like 1-3 rooms or something like that. Also having a limit on how many people can join a channel for the specific games would help with this problem as well. Ex. For Dota Game 1 = 5 for each team, 2 for commentators, everyone else in spectators.

I've always tried to organize my vent servers like hotels. You start on the Ground Floor in the Lobby. The Lobby is where you walk in first but you really don't stay there, it's a place to pass through and say hi to those you see. Beyond the Lobby you find the the Check-In. These are people who are looking for a game to play. Once you have a game you get your room key and your group goes up to your room (Each room can be split up - like the above post for example). If you don't want to do any of that then you're welcome to go the bar where everyone is expected to be lively and shouting at each other despite any social norm. And then of course I used to chill in the Penthouse. Invite only
