Steam name: [IHG] Silent
Position being applied for:
Forum moderator In-house officer Ventrilo admin
Applying for any of them.
Credentials:
Countless years of experience with clans/teams. Be it running community leagues for CSS or our CSS gaming group which had, at one point, 5 teams of its own including a community team.
Was also an officer in rawr for a period of time (HoN) and used to spectate almost every inhouse match and dealt with the recruitment.
Also ran WoW guilds etc.
More info / other venture details available if necessary.
Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job:
The reason I have managed to do jobs such as these in the past is quite simple. I enjoy interacting with the clan and the community. I like helping people with their problems. So much so that I am currently undertaking a degree in business management, and while this is not a business, there are certain levels of overlap in terms of the daily running of a clan/gaming group. The feeling of knowing that I am actively helping to create the awesome experience which IHG will undoubtedly give.
Another aspect is the timezone. Since I am living in scotland, (GMT + 0) this means that I am often available at times when US mods etc are offline, and should you be looking to further your idea of in house matches 24/7, you will need to have an active community during EU peak times etc.

Steam name: [IGH] Massive Dynamic
Position being applied for: Forum Moderator
Credentials: - Familiar with many online communities and how they work. - Very organized. - Familiar with many games and other subject matter. - Fluent in English (native language).
Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: I believe I would be a good forum moderator because I have been a member of several different forums for many years and I have learned what it takes to be a moderator during my time there. I know the importance of managing a forum and the impact that a good moderator can have on an online community such as In-House Gaming by promoting values of respect and community. In addition, I have had a lot of experience in writing (particularly in journalism) and I have a fair and realistic sense of judgment which are valuable skills that are needed in a moderator. Thus, I would like to apply to this position with the hope that I can get an opportunity to become a more helpful member of the IHG community.

Steam name: [IHG] vexxes Position being applied for: Inhouse officer Forum Moderator Credentials: I mod several jtv channels and I used to be a mod for a small salt water fish forum. (Until it went under last year ) I've been a leader/officer in several clans throughout my gaming career, specifically one clan of over 100 members in HoN and a clan in Rapellz. I speak English fluently, I rarely ever get angry at people online, and I'm generally a nice guy to people I meet. I'm also online nearly everyday for a decent amount of time, although the specific time I'm on may vary. Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: I think I could do either of these jobs because I have past experiences doing them. I know how people work online, especially in this genre, and I know to hear both sides of an issue before making any assumptions. I enjoy being around people and I enjoy helping people so I would like to do both of these. (Probably would lean towards Inhouse Officer) As a guy above me said with timezones, I know a lot of you are from the west coast and I am on the East coast so that may be of an advantage.

Steam name: Position being applied for: Credentials: - Northrend Approved Host, as a NAH what we did was exactly what you describe in the In-house officer. We were expected to maintain a good ambient in public games (I can assure you it is way more difficult to do it in pubs). Be able to judge what was a normal behaviour within a competitive game where emotions easily take over the rational part was a required skill. As part of the selection process you had to have three games with another approved hosts without your knowledge, they would use some random nickname, and a majority vote of all active approved hosts. I came too know this only after I was accepted as an approved host.
- Graduate in Management (Business Administration), Managing people's behaviour is suppose to be part of my life.
Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: Rude behaviour is probably one of the things that most hurt my gaming experience so trying to keep it as low as possible is one of the things I should prioritise. As for personality I'm not hard to reach and mostly easy going but I can also be quiet strict when the situation calls for it. All this coupled with my experience in hosting games at northrend, leading Guilds in Ragnarok online and Clans in Starcraft should make me a good In-house officer.

Multi-media that consists from Animations to Traditional Art. The community ranges from around 1,200+ users. I've been able to keep it sustained and entertaining with my creativity as well as solving problems/etc. without any acts of being biased. I've been graphic designing / digital imaging on my free time for a few years now. Friendly as well! Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job:At school, I have internet access and I've been recently browsing the internets while I can. This includes THIS FORUM. I tend to browse it now that the community is growing and becoming more active. (Hope it stays like that) I believe my English qualifies to your expectations as well. Not only do I have the free time to browse the forums, I am experienced in forum moderation.(As said above.) As for the Photoshop-er position. I think I have a great sense of color, flow, and typography which are some of the key elements in art(I only chose those 3 because it seems those are the common things many signatures lack. I guess you can call me an elitist or strict when it comes to these...KNOWLEDGE WISE that is.). I also despise signatures where people just slap renders on a background and spam filters.(It might seem like that in my signatures you'll see below, but that is faulty) I'm just going to post stuff that I managed to obtain after I had reformatted my computer. i52.tinypic.com/2rrxrew.jpg -sig i42.tinypic.com/34t4o3r.jpg -first time painting i40.tinypic.com/dp8dj6.jpgSome cartoons too! i39.tinypic.com/auxvmv.jpgi42.tinypic.com/5jsime.jpgGFX Design i43.tinypic.com/34q61ro.jpgi56.tinypic.com/2mqmhdl.jpg -for a game site I have more but... yeah, thats all for now

Credentials: -Friendly -Calm/Chill -Unbiased -Can quickly problem solve and think on my feet -Constantly lurking the forums and am always near a computer -Strong morals -Understand forum etiquette
Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: I was a forum mod and server admin for a Counter-Strike Source server. From this job I have learned how to follow orders and guidelines as well as make my own decisions when need be. Constantly available( Use to get called to the server almost every hour to ban a hacker/mic spammer or other people regardless of if i was busy).
Although not what I am applying for but if need be I am always available for help in other areas posted. I am currently majoring with a good background in web design as well as other programming aspects. When I am away from school I am almost always logged in to Dota and can help with In-House policing.
I think it is great to be deeply integrated in to a community and game I feel very passionate about. I would love to see the community grow and develop as one of the forum mods of IHG.
Thank you for your consideration!

Steam name: [IHG] Snarf Snarf
Position being applied for: In-house officer/Ventrilo Admin
Credentials: I was a moderator of AA-gaming.com's(All-Around Gaming) top TF2 server for about 18 months. I played in the community there for a year prior, and during the time I was moderator, I helped raise the community to have a 97% uptime on being a full server (we were the 3rd most played server for TF2 for most of this time). My demeanor in-game provided a fun and fulfilling environment to shoot some heads off, and I was constantly being the subject of praise on the admin forums of how well I handled in-game events and my thorough investigation for anti-hacking(which had most of the admins for the CoD4 and CoD2 servers begging me to go admin for them as well). Oh and I played sniper, and even with my lengthy out-of-game investigations and in-game moderating, I remained the top sniper with 92% headshots (we ran HLStats) and was #3 on the server for points (I'm trying to say being a moderator/officer will not affect my in-game play, nor my enjoyment of the community and game).
<Nerve> WoW guild, Played with them from vanilla MC all the way to Sunwell. We were constantly a top 10 world guild for the duration of our reign. I was the priest/healing class lead for the guild for about 2 years of this time. I had to teach each healer what to do for each fight, and since we were a top 10 guild, we made our own strategies. Additionally, during this time I was able to remain #1 or #2 on healing meters for the duration of my stay with this guild. I constantly ran healer chat, and provided the winning strategies for bosses, while remaining on top of my game. (I'm trying to say I can play and moderate without it affecting my gameplay, if you aren't seeing the pattern).
I was also Raid Leader in WoW for a few different guilds and their subsidiaries on Mal'Ganis, most recently I commanded raids for a top 50(US) 10-man guild in Cata. During this time, I was also the Main Tank for the raid, and would swap to DPS to become the #2 dps (as a fury warrior, which over a mage at the time was impressive).
Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: Basically, I think I would be an excellent candidate for the job, because I have a lengthy experience in top-tier gaming. I know how to keep it professional, and I know how to make an impression, break the ice with newer members, and generally provide a fun environment. I am also bringing 5-6 of my friends with the beta over to IHG, to further increase the community. I'm sure you have noticed me in vent, because I'm constantly providing laughs, and now that I have a beta key that I didn't get from you guys (because they weren't given out yet) and you see me here applying, it's clear I'm sticking around for the long haul, as I told you in our first conversation. I can help bring IHG to greatness, and I will stick around even if turned down for either officer position. Good luck with the hunt!
Oh, I'd also like to remind you (since you've read so many apps, I don't expect you to remember with your alzheimer's) that I played HoN since closed beta, and dota 2 for 4ish years before that. I've been in the MOBA scene for at least 8 years (I don't remember exact dates, high school was a blur, etc...) So I do have a deep understanding of the game and it's history, as well as the heroes in DotA 2 (since they all carry over).

Edit: Dark blue = not a good color choice for a dark forum background!

Steam name: NedrapterPosition being applied for: In-house officerCredentials: -I've worked as similar officer in more than 5 well known greek dota (mojo, gdb, grc, sp, cde) communities. In 3 of them I was of the highest ranked officers, organizing and taking decisions for the communities. -I've been officer in greek HoN communities as well, one of which made a team which played in European tournaments and even got 1st positions twice (neither the major tournaments not the minor ones, some with 1st prize like 500 euros etc). -I've had my own community in HoN (which is now officially closed but you can still see our forum in www.gameplay.forumakers.com . I've organized an official HoN tournament for Swansea University (with small prizes in gold goblin coins from S2). -I worked as a strategy article writer in GosuGamers for 5 months (then Dota 2 popped out and HoN stopped being interested for me) and I plan to do so again but in the Dota 2 section instead of HoN (ofc in GosuGamers again). -Last but not least, all my "dota" gaming life has been through IH communities, because public gaming was never in my interests, and I always want to be part of something.
Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: Well, mainly the reason is that I got plenty of experience on such position, as I described above. I've seen how such communities start, what can make them bigger. what can start their demise etc etc, none of those concepts are new to me. Also I can work as the officer for the European part of the community which (even we dont want it) usually seperates itself after a while from the american, due to time differences, latency, etc etc. I'm not mentioning the "friendly, logical, knowledgeable etc etc, because I suppose those are obvious for those who apply for staff positions.

Steam name: ShuPiNnA steamcommunity.com/id/ShuPiNnAPosition being applied for: Forum ModeratorCredentials: - 3+ Years of Forum Moderating/Administrating
- Very respectful to others.
- Organized.
- Very very active!
- Other: I have made countless forums for games like Starcraft/Ragnarok Online/Dota Clans/Maplestory Private Servers. Here is one of the many forums I have created in the past, this one was actually for a Dota clan (dead now) for my friends and I. I wish I could link others but most were hosted by third parties that decided to shut down the forums (due to servers dying, merging with other servers). z3.invisionfree.com/DotA_Clan_M1A/index.php?act=idx *note that this one is pretty old, my skills in forum creating and moderating have grown exponentially since then, but I guess you have to take my word for it. Please write a brief summary as to why you believe you can do the job: First off, I'd like to say that forums are so crucial in communities such as this one (Dota2 and IHG) especially since it is relatively new. In my opinion, forums are usually overlooked when it comes to online gaming. People tend to go straight to the game never really going into forums unless it is beneficial to them or if it is required of them to do so (I.E. Filling out Applications). In my experience, too many times I've seen gaming communities fall apart because of lack of communication or division in the community because it isn't close knit due to (but not always the case) little or no activity on forums. I feel like in these cases, the admins are at fault because they do not care enough for the community and put little to no effort into getting people involved in the forums. (not directed towards anyone in IHG, especially not the staff, I know you guys care alot and put so much work into this community <3) For IHG to grow and become a thriving community, the forums have to be active. For us to go far in Dota2 in addition to anything we plan to do in the future, I believe we need to have a strong and active forum. As moderator, I will try to further these goals as much as I can. It's starts with the administration, if there is no base, we can't expect to really get anywhere. I will do my best to do what I can for IHG! I love this community and I will do as much as I can for it. I look forward to what we can do and where we go in the coming future!
